Chennai: British Council, India is launching ‘Experience UK’ an online game aimed at students wanting to study in the UK.
Developed by an UK alumnus, Nipan Maniar, currently working as a senior lecturer, who came to the UK as an international student from India eight years ago, the game familiarises the player with the different aspects of studying and living in the UK.
During the course of the game the student gets valuable information related to various courses, admission criteria, fee structures, budgeting and immigration regulations. Apart from this the student also gets exposed to information related to UK such as places of interest, the weather and study destinations.
More than 31,000 Indian students are currently studying in the UK and this number is growing at the rate of over ten per cent each year.
In view of this, the British Council is organising a series of annual Education UK Exhibition in 5 Indian cities. The exhibition which begins in Bangalore on Feb 5, 6 will travel on to Hyderabad (Feb 8,9), Chennai (Feb 11,12), Delhi (Feb 14,15) and Pune (Feb 17, 18.) Students will get a chance to meet more than 100 representatives of 58 UK institutions.
The exhibition will cater to a range of subjects mainly at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There will also be seminars on different topics like Biotechnology, Business and Management, Postgraduate courses, Post study employment success in the UK and Students Visas. Information about scholarships for study in the UK, IELTS and student library membership details will also be available.
